A nonprofit library, and a record of our work
Alfouz is a nonprofit library and community journal serving Arabic, Pashto, and Dari readers. Every book here is free to read, and everything we do beyond the library gets posted to the blog as it happens.
How we started
Alfouz began the way most community libraries do — with someone who believed books shouldn't stay out of reach because of language or cost. The fuller story, in the founder's own words, belongs here once it's ready to share.
Today that means a growing library of Pashto, Dari, and Arabic books you can read for free, a journal where updates are posted as they happen, and a small number of community programs alongside it — all of it reachable from this site.
What we stand for
Open access
Every book is free to read, in the languages our community actually speaks.
Transparency
Our work is posted as it happens — not summarized months later.
Respect for authors
Books are shared for reading, never for copying or resale.
